State Qualifier Race
|
Description
SWIM: The 750 meter clockwise rectangular swim has always been wetsuit legal with water temperatures between 72 and 76 degrees F.
BIKE: The 11 mile bike loop is fairly challenging but offers no major climbs, only a few rolling hills. Racers can expect little to no traffic as the bike leaves the Clemson University campus and enters onto rural county roads before returning to the race site.
RUN: The 5k out and back run opens with a nice 1 mile down hill before heading up and onto the East Beach Dyke. From the flat dyke surface racers can look to the right to see a great view of Lake Hartwell and the Clemson Unviversity Crew course. To the left racers will have a spectacular view of the Clemson University Campus. At the turn around it is back down the dyke to begin the gradual climb back to the finish line.
OTHER NOTABLES: The Clemson Triathlon has again been selected as the USAT Southeast Regional Sprint Championship Event.
